      Paris

The tour itseflf was very nice. It was wonderful to be able to ride in comfort around Paris, and not have to worry about walking too much or getting lost on the Metro. However...we were not informed correctly about the pick-up stop at Gare de l'Est. We were told the it was near the Musee de Crystal, but that Museum no longer exists. Also, this museum was on a side street no where near the actual bus stop. Intstead, a street name or intersection would have been a much better way for us to us locate the stop. Also, we were not aware that it was the l'Open Tour bus that we were supposed to catch. I was looking for a bus with the Isango logo on it. All this led us on a useless walk all over the 10th Arrondissement, when the actual stop was less than a block from our hotel.

      21st birthday - Dublin 2009 Tour

Dublin is a fantastic place to be. The culture is incredible. The Dublin Pass is definately worth investing in as it will save you a fortune. My girlfriend and I were staying for a week for my 21st birthday, so we got the 6 day card - the money that it saved us in not having to pay entrance fee's made the card worthwhile, added to that many other benefits such as free/heavily discounted gifts, preferential treatment etc made the experience incredible. In order to make the Dublin Pass pay for itself, you really need to be doing 2 attractions a day. Its best to make a loose plan of what you want to do each day i.e. we decided that on Tuesday we went to the Guiness Factory ( a must see) and the Old Jameson distillery, so while we were at 'that end' of Dublin city, we stopped off at other minor attractions too. Dublin isn't cheap. We got the holiday and accomodation for £700 through greatlatedeals.com and we ended up spending around 100 euros a day. Even though we are a couple in our early 20's we were quite mature and didn't do out heavily drinking/clubbing every night, if you do, expect to be spending 5 euro per pint/cocktail/bottle. Thats the average. If you are handing over large notes (like 100 euro) make sure you count your change, the notes look very similar and you can easily be short changed. A three-course meal including a bottle of wine can easily run into 80 euro for a couple. IF you have the Dublin pass, then I would budget for 150 euro a day, if not, then I would budget for 200 euro a day. Overall, Dublin is an incredible city, I got to go there thanks to my fiancée paying it as my 21st birthday gift and it was truly a memorable experience. Dublin's history and culture is welcoming, entertaining and down-right-amazing.
