Only had a limited amount of time to see the sights and this ensured we saw everything. We had 2 day pass and on first day did Grand Tour Route, getting off at Eiffel Tower for trip to the top. We were able to use the bus until 8pm that evening which was really good for us. Following day we completed the Yellow route which took us to Monmartre area. Would have like to do the other routes but didn't have time. All the bus stops were really close to the sights and buses were easy to spot being bright green. We didn't need any other method of transport for our time in Paris apart from getting from and to the Airport and I would definitely recommend this especially if you only have a day and a half as we did.
I went on this tour on July 4, 2010. Although it rained almost constantly--for 12 hours!--it was still worth taking. I understand that kind of rain is unusual, so don't let that put you off. Our tour guide was Ian, and he was amazing! He had so much knowledge not only of the landscapes and sights we visited, but also of Scots history. It was one of the best tours I've ever been on! Even though it covers a lot of territory in one day, it is well worth taking, especially if you don't have the time for one of their longer tours. You'll get a good taste of the beauty of the Hoghlands, have a chance to take a cruise on Loch Ness (extra cost) and learn lots of interesting facts about the Scots and their history. If you can pick your guide, pick Ian. He's fabulous!
The hop-on hop-off tour bus is a great way to explore the city. We purchased the three days for the price of two coupon and used the bus to explore the city and to get out for meals. The information on the tour bus is great, wish the boat offered the same. Great value for the money - you can see all of Paris on their four different routes!
