Our tips for Cannes

  • If traveling out of town, use the buses. Ask at the bus stations for the cheapest options. Sometimes, you can save more than 30% on a book of 10 tickets and a return ticket might cost lesser than two singles. Bus tickets need to be bought in advance at the kiosks within opening hours (usually 9am to 5pm).
  • Visit the beaches of Plage du Midi, Plage de la Bocca and Palm Beach, which are a favorite for the locals. The beaches might get quite crowded in the summers, but head out to the empty rocks and spread out your towel for some privacy.
  • Just outside of Cannes, there’s a picturesque 200-acre national park called La Croix-des-Gardes, ideal for hiking and picnics. If looking to visit attractions outside the town, this one’s an absolute must-do.

Good to know

Even though Cannes can be visited at any time of the year, the best time to visit is ideally from March to May, before the annual film festival and the peak tourist season and hot weather.
