Good to know

Best time to visit
Head to York during spring, and you are in for a real treat. That's from March to May. The flowers are in bloom, and the weather is often at its best. It's also peak season, so expect queues and higher tariffs in hotels. Be warned, like all year, the weather can be unpredictable, so make sure to have an umbrella or raincoat!
Getting around
York isn't a large city, so walking the best way to explore, or you can, of course, take the hop on hop off bus tour. There are local transport services and taxis if you want to go further afield. There are also good rail connections with the rest of the country.
