I used the Hop-On, Hop-Off bus tours on my first visit to Paris...can not think of a better way to have seen the city! Buses ran regularly and a wide variety of people used them - couples, people with babies, older people etc. I found the audio commentaries very informative. For me this was the best introduction to Paris I could have wished for. Thanks.
If you want to see the peninsula with an informative commentary then this is for you. we were picked up promptly at our hotel and taken with some other travellers in a minibus to see the sights. Free time was given to wander through the botanical gardens and plenty of stops for photo opportunity. Our driver was amusing and informative, and we saw a lot of wildlife, seals on their island (boat trip included), penguins, ostrich, emu, baboons and deer. Plenty of time was given at the cape and we could not have had a more thorough tour experience. We had lunch altogether at a beachside restaurant{extra}which was delicious and cheap. A wonderful experience.
I was anxious about how the "Moulin Rouge" show was going to turn out after reading so many reviews. But after experiencing it with my own eyes, I had to say it was one of the best shows I have ever seen. Everything came to live when the show started and it went on non stop. Very entertaining show! We sat kind of far but right in the front so we were able to see everyone on the stage. This was our first time in Paris and we were very satisfied. The free Paris Illumination tour was kind of lousy. It's too quiet on the bus to where my husband and a few other crew members fell asleep. Since it's free and included with the package, why not! We actually were also given free tickets to the Seine River Cruise while waiting for the Moulin Rouge show. That was a plus and for sure better than the bus tour. All in all, it's worth the money. How many times will you visit Paris, right?????
