Walking Tour of Vasari Corridor and Uffizi Gallery
Our guide had a great knowledge of all the treasures of the Uffizi and certainly was able to put the art into a well-defined chronological and historical context. Having been to the Uffizi before then we, like others on this tour, were probably more inretested in travelling the unique Vasari Corridor. One thing that tempered peoples enjoyment inside the Uffizi was that in an unseasonally hot period in Autumn (28/28 deg C outside) the main roomes in the Uffizi had their air-conditioning turned off and many people struggled with the heat and crowds. The noise from competing tour groups inside the Uffizi also made it quite inhospitable at times. In contrast to this the Corridor was all calmness and revealed to us an unique aspect, a wonderful opportunity to see a hidden gem only opened to small groups.
