Accompanied by a wine expert, enjoy Cellar Door Tasting at three top wineries – Yering Farm, Punt Road Wines and Balgownie Estate. At Balgownie Estate you will also be treated to a delicious a la carte lunch at a restaurant with stunning views.
Finish the day with a flourish when you visit Domaine Chandon where Australia's best sparkling wines are made. Tour this elegant winery and find out how the world-famous ‘bubbles’ are produced. Emerge from the riddling room to jaw-dropping vistas of the verdant valley and a relaxing glass of Chandon.
For your full-day Yarra Valley Wine Tour from Melbourne you will be picked up from the designated pick-up point that is closest to where you are staying. Please make sure you have arranged this with the local tour operator beforehand and try to arrive at the meeting point at least 10 minutes before the advertized departure time. For this tour, you will travel in a deluxe coach and an expert guide will accompany you.
At around 10:00am, you will depart from the final pick up point for Yarra Valley. The journey takes just under an hour.
The Yarra Valley is internationally recognised as one of Australia's leading wine producing regions, famous for its cool climate masterpieces. Your first stop is at Yering Farm, one of the Yarra Valley’s boutique wineries. It has stunning views and is oozing with rustic charm. Try wines made with traditional methods in their cellar door, which showcases antique copper wine making tools used by pioneer wine makers.
The next stop, around 12 noon, is at Balgownie Estate. Here you can indulge in a guided tasting session at Balgownie Estate tasting table. Make your selection of wine for lunch and take your complimentary glass of wine to the restaurant with its magnificent vineyard views. Lunch includes a main course, a glass of Rochford wine and tea or coffee.
After lunch you will travel to Punt Road Wines, The enthusiastic and knowledgeable cellar door staff will share with you some of Punt Road’s award winning wines. This winery has a rich history and is the ideal place to sample a selection of exciting wines that reflect the earthiness and personality of the Yarra Valley. The wines here speak for themselves but we will let you be the judge.
End the day with a visit to Domaine Chandon, the Australian production house of the French Champagne company Moet & Chandon. Domaine Chandon is dedicated to the production of méthode traditionnelle sparkling wine and premium quality, cool-climate still wines.
Enjoy a special guided tour through the winery and learn about the process of making sparkling wine. Sample some delightful ‘bubbly’ together with tasty snacks.
At around 3:30pm, you will depart the Yarra Valley for Melbourne, arriving in the city at around 4:30pm. You will be dropped off at the point where you were picked up.
The local tour operator does not carry child safety seats on board its vehicles and does not have appropriate fixtures to secure such seats. Parents and guardians of children under the age of 12 years must sign a "waiver of responsibility" for the safety of the child whilst on the bus. This waiver releases the local supplier from responsibility for the child's safety whilst on its vehicles. This document must be signed prior to departure of tour.
