Experience African wildlife in Australia at the Werribee Open Range Zoo, located 32km southwest of Melbourne. This thematic zoo offers a thrilling safari adventure with visitors able to view magnificent animals from the African savannah.
See lions, gorillas, hippos, antelopes, meerkats and ostriches in large enclosures, which allow the animals to live happy in environments very similar to their wild environment. Enjoy a FREE 40-minute safari bus tour around the park and get up close with the animals as they roam freely in their spacious enclosures.
There are several exciting exhibits at this African Serengeti-inspired zoo. The Lions on the Edge exhibit is home to eight lions, while the Kubu River Hippo Experience allows you to step in to an African wetland, and the Australian Journey exhibit in which animals like kangaroos, emu, brolga, koalas, bandicoots and other natives are found.
