The day ends with an amazing wildlife experience; the famous Penguin Parade. Watch the world’s smallest penguins waddle ashore after spending the day fishing out at sea. You’ll be truly enchanted as the stars of the show emerge from the surf and pass right before your eyes on their journey back to their homes. Also, any visit to Penguin Parade is halfway without visiting Penguin Underground to acquaint yourself with the penguins a little more. You have the option to upgrade to more personalised experiences - Penguin Plus and Great Ranger Tour, that offers priority seating and guided narration.
You will be picked up from your hotel in an air-conditioned minibus for your Phillip Island Tour. An English-speaking guide will accompany you on this tour.
Departing Melbourne at around midday, we proceed to the city’s most colourful attraction the iconic Brighton Beach bathing boxes for an opportunity to visit the beach and take some time to admire this historic landmark.
The first destination of your Phillip Island Tour will be the Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park, just 50 minutes from Melbourne.
This award-winning park is home to more than 200 animals and makes up some 30 species. Learn about iconic species such as kangaroos, koalas, emus & wallabies, as well as some of our lesser known favourites including quolls, owls, bandicoots & Tasmanian devils. Enjoy the spectacular “Conservation in Action wildlife show, which showcases a number of lesser-known Australian species in a series of interactive and engaging ranger presentations.
A visit to Point Grant and The Nobbies gives us an opportunity to enjoy views over Westernport Bay and Bass Strait, including Seal Rocks, home to Australia’s largest population of fur seals.
And then it’s onwards to the main event, where just after dark every night the world’s smallest penguins waddle ashore after spending the day fishing out at sea. You’ll be truly enchanted as the stars of the show emerge from the surf and pass right before your eyes on their journey back to their homes. Your guide will ensure you are able to get the very best vantage point to enjoy the Penguin Parade and Penguin Underground where you would be experiencing a bird's eye view of the little penguins.
For an exclusive viewing experience, you may upgrade to more personalised experiences - Penguin Plus or the Guided Ranger Tour. With Penguins Plus, enjoy access to an exclusive viewing platform. With numbers limited to 300, you’ll enjoy a special ranger interpretation in a more natural setting.
With Guided Ranger Tour, be a part of a group of not more than 10 guests accompanied by a ranger guide for a private eco-tourism experience including secluded priority seating.
After the parade we allow plenty of time to explore the Visitor Centre before beginning our own journey back to Melbourne.
With a drop off right back to your inner city accommodation, you’ll remember this day as a true highlight of your Australian holiday.
