  • Overview & Itinerary

Discover the beautiful coastlines, pristine beaches, interesting seaside towns, lush rainforests and the native wildlife of Australia in this 1 day tour of the Great Ocean Road and the Otway’s rainforest. Every twist and turn of the Great Ocean Road brings you long stretches of beaches, picturesque coastlines and popular tourist destinations like the 12 Apostles, the Loch Ard Gorge and the London Bridge, among other places. During your visit to the beautiful Otway’s rainforest, you will encounter some of the tallest eucalyptus trees in Australia.

You will be picked up from your accommodation in Melbourne Central Business District by a coach between 7am to 8am. Your day will begin with a trip to a surf beach where you can relax and watch the surfers, while enjoying a complimentary tea.

The next stop in the tour will be the Memorial Arch, which is a tribute to the World War One servicemen who built the Great Ocean Road. After the Memorial Arch you will visit another beach where you can enjoy the feel of the sand under your feet and the wind in your hair.

In the visit to the Lorne and Anglesea, soak in the spectacular scenic beauty of the coastal landscape and see kangaroos and other wildlife as well. The spectacular view of the sea, the coasts and the dramatic limestone cliffs makes the Great Ocean Road an absolute must-visit.

You will also enjoy a lovely and tranquil walk through the coastal town of Kennett River where you can spot koalas and many beautiful birds like the kookaburra, lorikeets and parrots.

You will then halt for lunch at Apollo Bay, where you can choose from a number of lunch options. You can choose from the following lunch options:

The next stop is the Otway’s rainforest (also known as Mait’s Rest), where you can enjoy spectacular scenic beauty along with the opportunity to see some of the tallest trees in the world, ancient plant life and lush ferns during a guided bush walk.

Enjoy the majestic sight of the massive limestone stacks rising from the Southern Ocean in your next halt at the 12 Apostles on Victoria’s rugged coastline. At the beautiful Loch Ard Gorge (your next stop), enjoy a stroll along the beach, amidst the towering limestone cliffs. The Loch Ard Gorge has been named after the clipper ship Loch Ard. Hear from your guide, the legendary tale of Australia’s most famous shipwreck.
