Although L.A. doesn’t have much of a winter to speak of, you’ll still find a whole slew of exciting winter events in Los Angeles this year. From theme parks to zoos to aquariums, festive celebrations for the holiday season can be found just about everywhere. And, in the interest of brevity, we’ve boiled it down to the best of the best. So, without further ado, here’s our list of the top events in Los Angeles this winter:
Knott’s Merry Farm
Celebrate the holidays with Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, and the rest of the Peanuts gang! On November 22, one of the most anticipated winter events in Los Angeles returns to Knott’s Berry Farm. Witness the magical Merry Christmas, Snoopy Ice Show and see your favorite Peanuts characters perform alongside professional ice skaters. And, cook up something nice in Mrs. Claus’ Kitchen before experiencing the popular Snow and Glow Show. But, hurry! This event ends on January 5th!
L.A. Zoo Lights
The wildest winter event in Los Angeles is roaring back this year. And, starting on November 15th, you can join the pride at the Los Angeles Zoo for the ever popular L.A. Zoo Lights! Marvel at the beautiful, lit-up animal displays and dance inside of a disco ball forest! You can even spend the night during a pajama sleepover or herald in the New Year during the Family New Year’s Eve celebration. It’s one of the best things to do in Los Angeles for a unique L.A. Zoo experience!
Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Magic Mountain
Spend part of the festive season with Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Taz, and the others during Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Magic Mountain. This year, between November 23rd and January 5th, one of the most popular winter events in Los Angeles will kick off every evening! Enjoy exciting holiday shows, fun activities for the kids, and a chance to meet Santa and his helpers! And, keep an eye out for one of those freak Los Angeles snowstorms and some cheery professional carolers.
Grinchmas at Universal Studios Hollywood
Ring in the Who-lidays and have yourself a very merry Grinchmas this season at Universal Studios Hollywood! Between November 28th and December 29th, you can enjoy nightly snowfall within Hogsmeade and watch Hogwarts come alive with a dazzling display of colorful lights and other special effects. And, listen to throaty Christmas carols as sung by the Holiday Frog Choir! It’s what to do in Los Angeles if you find yourself celebrating the holidays with little ones.
Aquarium Holidays at Aquarium of the Pacific
Participate in the Aquarium of the Pacific’s patented Penguin Parade this holiday season! On weekends, the Aquarium Holidays event offers a snow play area for kids, snowfall in the Great Hall, a chance to watch Santa scuba dive, and much more. Plus, between December 7th and 23rd, you can support the Long Beach Fire Department’s Spark of Love Toy Drive and receive $10 off admission if you bring an unwrapped toy valued over $15.
