Explore the ruins of the Ancient Forum and marvel at the majesty of the imposing Colosseum, a monument which has become the defining landmark of Rome. Admire the impressive frescoed ceiling of the Sistine Chapel and see other masterpieces by famous artists including Raphael and Michelangelo at the St. Peter's Basilica and Square. Visit the Vatican Museums, which houses one of the largest art collections in the world.
This sightseeing tour of the greatest landmarks of Rome offers an interesting insight into the history and culture of the eternal city.
You will be picked up from the dockside of your cruise ship at 07:30am. Accompanied by an English-speaking guide and travelling in an air-conditioned vehicle you will make your way to the centre of Rome.
Your first stop will be the Ancient Forum where you cam walk around the remains of the imposing ancient buildings and get an insight into the life of Roman society, their beliefs, and their social and political life.
Continuing on you will visit the mighty Colosseum. The imposing arena brings to life the days of Ancient Rome. Learn about the inner workings of the Colosseum and the special effects and showmanship of the ferocious games played there.
You will then take a walking tour of the Centre of Rome. Admire the Pantheon, and learn about the rich history of one of Rome's most important and beautiful buildings. See the magnificent fountains by Bernini, the palaces, open squares and richly decorated churches.
Continue to the Vatican City where you will visit the Sistine Chapel. The official residence of the Pope in the Vatican City, the chapel is famous for its architecture, and the frescos by the greatest Renaissance artists, including the legendary ceiling by Michelangelo.
While in the Vatican visit St. Peter's Basilica and Square. This immense area houses many precious works including the breathtaking Pieta' by Michelangelo, and Bernini's papal canopy. The tomb of Saint Peter is the focal point of the basilica.
On the way back to the cruise ship you will be driven up on to one of the seven hills of Rome for wonderful views of the city.
You will be returned to your cruise ship at around 5:30pm.
Please call the local activity operator anytime between 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday to Saturday, atleast a day prior to the start of the tour to confirm the departure details.

This tour includes reserved entrance to the Vatican, reserved entrance is limited and only available between 0800h and 0945h therefore this tour is only available if you are able to leave your port by 0800h at the latest.
Air-conditioning, guide commentary and wheelchair accessible upon request.
As entrance to the Vatican is limited you are advised to book well in advance.
Large bags/backpacks/suitcases are not permitted in the Colosseum and Roman Forum. Only very small bags are allowed. Please do not bring these items with you on the day of your tour as there are no cloakrooms at the Colosseum.
