Overview

Experience more of Rome’s most iconic monument with the Skip-the-line Colosseum Underground and Arena Tour. Your tour also includes priority access to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill.

Visit the Colosseum Underground with a professional guide. The tour starts at the special entrance to the “backstage” of the Colosseum. This is where the gladiators would wait to go out to battle, and where the many animals used by the Roman Empire were held. Descend under the arena level and discover what lied beneath. Imagine the tunnels full of animal cages and Gladiators trained. Enjoy live commentary by your guide as you explore the immense amphitheater — the largest ever built by the Roman Empire and recreate in your mind’s eye the gruesome gladiator fights and public spectacles that took place in the arena.

Explore the tiers where the spectators would be watching the bloody battles and take in the magnitude of the amphitheater from where gladiators faced their foes.

Visit the Roman Forum where Roman citizens used to live, see the tomb of emperor Julius Caesar and explore the ancient ruins at your own pace. Visit Palatine Hill, site of the foundation of Rome and settlement of the most important houses of emperors and kings. Located just feet away from the Roman Forum and Circus Maximum, it is the centermost of the 7 hills of Rome.
