Saturday and Sunday
This Pompeii tour from Rome is crafted especially for those who are short on time and want to enjoy a comprehensive tour of Pompeii. Take a special air-conditioned, high-speed train from Rome and Naples and travel to Pompeii in a private coach accompanied by an expert, English speaking guide.
The special, air-conditioned high-speed train will take an hour to reach Naples and will pass by the spectacular scenery of the countryside. Then you will board a private coach that will take you to the world-famous ruins of Pompeii.
Walk past the long queues with your skip-the-line ticket to Pompeii and embark upon a 2-hour guided tour of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the excavation site, which was buried under volcanic debris for over 1600 years. Walk the cobbled streets where the people of Pompeii went about their daily lives. You will also visit the newly opened Domus, the residences of the ancient elite. Marvel at the beautiful frescoes of animals, powerful gods and lush landscapes decorated on the walls of these structures.
Pompeii was a well-developed Roman city, which had a huge amphitheatre that held gladiatorial fights, temples of worship, luxurious Roman villas decorated with brightly painted frescoes and marvellous mosaics and highly mechanised waterway systems. Your guide will bring the relics back to life through his commentary and share interesting local stories about the city.
After exploring the main parts of Pompeii, your guide will leave you for a short coffee break or you can spend some time buying souvenirs from the local shops before heading back to Rome by train.
