    Meeting Point

    Meeting Point: Tour departs near St. Mark's Square Go to the entrance to the Royal Gardens near San Marco Square. The gardens are on the water side of St. Marks Square.

    Please read the below instructions carefully to help you find the meeting point.

    Directions from St Mark’s square: Facing St Mark’s basilica, turn right and walk to the waterfront and after passing the two giant columns, turn right again – Walk along the waterfront full of street souvenirs vendors, after 200 meters on your right find the Royal Gardens. Avventure Bellissime tour coordinator will have a sign with the name of the tour written on it.

    Arriving by Water-Bus (Vaporetto): Get off at St Marco Vallaresso stop , turn right , cross over a small bridge and after a few meters you’ll find the Royal Gardens on your left.

    If you get off at St Zaccaria waterbus stop: Turn left and walk along the waterfront until you will find the gardens on your right (approx 10 minutes walk from this stop to meeting point)

    Please report at the meeting point 10 minutes before the start time. This is mandatory to allow time for pre-departure briefing.

  • Overview & Itinerary

    This tour provides the perfect introduction to Venice. You will explore the two sides of Venice starting with St Mark's Square, the large piazza which is the heart of Venice and continue to explore the intricate, narrow and winding back streets of Venice.

    The first stop for most of the people exploring Venice is this large square called the Piazza San Marco which is at the heart of the city and home to the famous Basilica di San Marco followed by the distinctive pink and white Doge's Palace.

    You will also explore the back streets of Venice, the narrow alleyways are home to beautiful canals, churches and piazzas which enthrall visitors. One of those you will be visiting was the place where Marco Polo lived while learning more about the famous explorer.


    The tour starts from the entrance to the Royal Gardens on the water front of St. Mark’s square. Accompanied by a guide you will set out on your walking tour which introduces many of the most exciting sights of Venice.

    Visit Marco Polo's House and a Merchants warehouse. In St Mark's Square see the Doge's Palace and the adjoining prisons and listen as your guide will tell you the fascinating stories behind these buildings.

    Then enjoy a guided tour of the interior of St. Mark's Basilica. This grand building dominates St Mark's Square and is one of the most iconic structures in Venice.

    Also take a walk through the Labyrinth of backstreets which make up the hidden side of Venice, you will find a labyrinth of narrow passageways and alleys, which many tourists never see.

    The tour ends at the Rialto Bridge.

    In condition of high water, St Mark’s Basilica Skip the line entrance will remain closed

    Skip the line tickets to St Mark’s Basilica are valid from 1st April until 31st October. During the winter months, due to less affluence to St Mark’s Basilica, this service is not provided by the church to all operators and individual travelers

    A dress code is required to enter places of worship and selected museums. No shorts or sleeveless tops allowed. Knees and shoulders MUST be covered for both men and women. You may risk refused entry if you fail to comply with these dress requirements Tour operates rain or shine.

    Large bags are not allowed into St Mark's Basilica.

    Due to uneven surfaces, this tour is not suitable for people with mobility problems.

    Children must be accompanied by an adult.

    Infant seats are available on special request if advised at the time of booking.

    This tour can easily be taken by those arriving in Venice as part of a cruise. Most cruise companies offer water taxi transfers into St Mark's Square (approx 10 minutes). Alternatively, if you have more time and would like to explore the enchanting back streets of Venice you can take a walk for an hour or so.
