Overview

Become an artist in the arty city of Venice by learning to make or decorate your very own traditional Carnival mask. With an age-old legacy, this exclusive art class will require hands-on training, while the participant hears the master artisan narrate stories on the use of masks during the past centuries.

If you choose to decorate your own mask, choose the mask you like and use unique instruments and methods to work on it.

Carry your creation with yourself, as a pleasant remembrance of this artistic experience.

Itinerary

Assemble at Campiello San Zulian 596, where the master's worshop is and take an opportunity to learn an authentic Venetian art form. On the day of the course, you have a choice to opt from two different activities – Production and Decoration.

Course on Production:

Meet the veteran instructor and hear him share the ancient techniques of making a traditional Venetian papier- mâché mask. A perfect mix of history and hands-on practice, this class also informs you about the use of masks during the past centuries along with various other lessons on this age-old subject.

Once your mask is produced, the participants would be required to keep the mask safely in the laboratory for a few hours to dry off. Return to receive your completed mask around 6 hours, and keep it as a souvenir of this one-of-a-kind experience.

Course on Decoration:
