  • Overview & Itinerary
Overview On this unique photography tour, you will move around Venice not as a tourist but as a Venetian, photographing some of the most famous places in the world and understanding from a photographic point of view, the Venetians’ life, their markets, the bars and the mysterious and hidden places. This specially designed photography tour will help you to discover and experience a city through the eyes of a local photographer. You will also learn to have a sharper observation of interesting details about a place and its people, which might easily be overlooked otherwise. With the help of an experienced photographer, you will have a more interesting experience and deeper involvement when visiting a city.

Your guide-cum-photographer has an in-depth local knowledge, a passion for the city and for the art of photography. Photographers are carefully selected for their breadth of style and experience in either travel or photo-documentary/reportage.

So bring your camera and be prepared to walk, shoot and click. Let each photograph carry your distinctive signature!

The tour starts from Vaporetto Stop - Accademia.

    Places visited will be:

Saint Mark’s Square: St. Mark's Square lies in the heart of Venice and is one the most photographed attractions in the world. The square is defined by arcades on three sides and St. Mark's church on the eastern end. During the day, St. Mark's Square is filled with people, pigeons and music.

Mercerie: This is Venice’s main through way, and in fact, its main shopping street, and the heart of the city’s commercial trade since ancient times when the precious fabric shops stayed open until late. It is packed with souvenir shops and more affordable boutiques.

Rialto Bridge: The Rialto Bridge is a landmark structure on the Grand Canal in Venice, attracting visitors with its central location and scenic views of the Grand Canal.

Fish and Vegetable Market: The fish and vegetable markets (called Pescaria and Erbaria) at the Rialto are one of the more traditional features of Venice.

You will also learn how to approach people and capture the spontaneous emotions, expressions and interactions among people that tell the story of Venice and the people who celebrate it with you.

There are photo opportunities on every corner and each location that you will visit and each offers its own unique photographic challenges.

At the end of the session your photographer-guide will review some of the photos taken. You will have learnt the basics of composition, the importance of light in photography, how to take balanced and attractive images, and simple techniques to take "creative" images.

The tour ends at Vaporetto line 1 "Arsenale".
