Enjoy an authentic tea tasting and mooncake on a San Francisco Chinatown and Beatnik Tour!
Explore the oldest Chinatown in the world and the oldest Chinese community outside of Asia with San Francisco Chinatown and Beatnik Tour tickets! On this part of your San Francisco trip, you will learn a little about the history of the city and the people who live in it. Appropriately enough, we’ll first start our tour of S.F.’s Chinatown by the iconic Chinatown Gate. Your local guide will take you through the bustling streets of this community and reveal some of its hidden gems.
Stop by one of the oldest bakeries in Chinatown for a famous, authentic mooncake pastry. This bakery and its delicious treats are so famous that Bill Clinton once stopped by here to try a mooncake for himself! You will also stop by Waverly Place to one of the oldest Chinese temples in America. Here, you will have your fortune read for you as the smell of incense lingers in the air. Then, learn how to make your own fortune cookie and enjoy it while it’s still fresh and warm! You’ll also experience an extensive, authentic tea tasting session led by a tea master before your San Francisco tour leads you to world-famous North Beach.
After an exciting tour around Chinatown, we’ll head off to the North Beach, ground zero for the Beat Movement of the 1950’s. During this part of your San Francisco sightseeing tour, you’ll see the hangouts of well-known Beat personalities like Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsburg. You’ll also stop by the City Lights Bookstore, which is another famous haunt of the Beat Generation that still publishes the works of local poets in San Francisco. Then, head over to the “Little Italy” of North Beach before finishing your walking tour in Washington Square Park. What you do from there is up to you! Do a little shopping or enjoy a delicious Italian meal. It’s what to do in San Francisco!
