For your tour to Alcatraz catch your boat at Pier 33 and head out to “The Rock”. You’ll enjoy the fascinating 45-minute audio guide called “Doing Time: The Alcatraz Cellhouse Tour”. It features actual commentary from both guards and inmates who lived and worked on the island. Then, once your guided tour is over, you are free to explore the island for as long as you want. Just make sure you are back on the mainland in time for the second leg of your journey!

Pickup takes place between 7:30 am and 8:00 am at your Downtown or Fisherman’s Wharf Hotel you will be driven to Pier 33 to catch the ferry to the island. Enjoy a 45-minute audio tour as you explore the island. You can spend as long as you want at Alcatraz. But, please make sure you are at the Zephyr Hotel near the Fisherman’s Wharf by 1:25 p.m.
The San Francisco city tour starts at the Zephyr Hotel in Fisherman’s Wharf at 1:40 pm Please try to arrive 15 minutes early. You’ll visit the Palace of Fine Arts and stop at the Haight-Ashbury District. You’ll also visit the Mission, Castro, and Financial District, as well as Chinatown. Then, once the stop at North Beach is complete, you can choose to either leave the tour to enjoy dinner in this famous neighborhood or get dropped off back at your hotel. Should you decide to get dropped off back at your hotel, the tour will end at approximately 7:30 pm.
Please call the activity operator at least 48 hours prior to start of the tour to confirm the departure details. Please reach the meeting point 15 minutes prior to the departure time.

According to California Law, we require tour guests to bring a car safety seat for all children under 8 years of age. Children under the age of 8 who are 4' 9" or taller may be secured by a safety belt and don't need a child safety seat. Failure to provide a seat for your child will result in forfeiture of seats on the tour without a refund.
Please bring a valid photo I.D. for each adult going to Alcatraz. Please keep in mind that this tour is based on Alcatraz availability.
You can spend as much time as you want on Alcatraz, but make sure you’re at Hotel Zephyr (250 Beach St.) in time for the city portion of your tour at 1:40 p.m. No refunds will be given if you miss this portion of your tour. Boats from Alcatraz leave approximately every 20-30 minutes.
