After cocktails and hors d’oeuvres you will be taken on the Academy’s renowned ‘Behind-the-Scenes’ tour. Learn more about the institution’s 159-year history and how its scientists are tackling critical questions about life on our planet.
Your VIP tour also includes a private viewing of the Academy’s breathtaking gem collection. Marvel at the beauty of the stones and minerals that can be found in the depths of the Earth.
You also enjoy VIP entrance to the stunning Rainforests of the World Exhibit and can take a journey into space at the evening Planetarium show.

The exclusive Academy of Sciences VIP Nightlife Tour gives you evening entry to the prestigious California Academy of Sciences and the chance to interact with Academy researchers. To join the tour make your way to the Academy at 55 Music Concourse Park, located in Golden Gate Park.
You should arrive at 6:00pm and enter through the “Membership” entrance. Meet at the VIP CHECK-IN inside the Main Lobby to receive your all access badges and further instructions.
Before your Behind-The-Scenes Academy tour you will be treated to cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in a reserved cocktail area. At 6:30pm sharp your thrilling Academy tour begins.
This tour gives you the chance to go behind the scenes with an expert guide to find out all about the prestigious Academy of Sciences from an insider's perspective. You’ll learn about the institution's 159-year history and how its scientists are tackling critical questions about life on Earth. You’ll visit the research collections and a working laboratory, get closer to the living roof and enjoy a private viewing of some of the Academy’s gem and mineral collection.
The Behind-the-Scenes tour does not visit all of the public exhibits at the Academy so you are strongly advised to explore the venue before the tour.
Your tour ticket also includes VIP entrance to the Rainforests of the World Exhibit, and a reserved pass for the 8:30pm Planetarium show which ends at approximately 9:05pm.
If you would like to round out your evening with a meal, dinner is available for purchase at the Academy Cafe and the Moss Room post-tour. (Please call local activity partner on the number given on your booking voucher for Moss Room reservations).
The tour ends at the Academy and afterwards you are free to make your own way back to your accommodation.
