Overview

The tour takes you to see Grossglockner, Austria's highest mountain lies at the heart of Austria’s Eastern Alps. Travel from Salzburg in a comfortable mini-van through some of the world's finest scenery.

Admire the spectacular view of the longest glacier in the Eastern Alps. Watch the marmots (unique chipmunk like creatures that are native to the area) frolic in the distance as you walk the circuit trail which offers incredible scenery.

Note: This tour is not available for few days in the month of July and August.

Itinerary

  • You will be picked up in morning from your hotel at 09:00am. Accompanied by an English-speaking guide you will be taken in a mini van on a tour of Großglockner (Grossglockner). Großglockner is the highest peak in Austria and located in the Hohe Tauern range of the Eastern Alps. This tour is a scenic ride through the most beautiful mountain areas of Austria. You can see: • Ferleiten Wildlife & Leisure Park: Nestled in an untamed and romantic high valley. The Ferleiten Wildlife & Leisure Park serves as a home to more than 200 species of wild animals, both native and exotic, including fallow deer, bison, brown bear, marmots, ibex and many more. • Edelweissspitze: This is the highest street point in Europe and offers spectacular views of the surrounding Alps. • Franz Josefs Höhe: The Franz- Josefs-Höhe (2,422m/7,947ft), on the edge of the Pasterze glacier is one of the most beautiful spots in the area. Stroll through the mountains around the Swarwsky place and see some typical alpine animals. On the way back, stop at the Marmote Inn for an early dinner. You will be dropped off at your hotel in Salzburg or drop you off in the Old Town.
