The green and fertile Valley is home to some 80 wineries ranging from famous labels to very small boutique winemakers. With over 7000 acres under the vine, the Valley produces wine styles such as Semillon, Shiraz, Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer, Cabernet Sauvignon and Earthy Pinot Noirs.
Learn about early European settlement of the area at historic Wollombi and Cessnock and see quaint old homesteads set amid forested hills.

At the start of the tour you will be picked up from your hotel in Central Sydney or can join the tour at the designated meeting point
This excursion takes you to the oldest commercial wine-producing area in Australia – the Hunter Valley. The route leads you out of Sydney over the Harbour Bridge. You’ll cross the Hawkesbury River, renowned for its superb oysters.
Leaving Wollombi, you will tour Cessnock and the Lower Hunter Valley to see the historic townships of the area before making a stop at McWilliams Mount Pleasant Estate for a guided tour and wine tasting. You’ll also a cafe style lunch with soft drink (vegetarian meals available on request).
The next stop is world-renowned Lindemans Estate where you can enjoy a private wine tasting and cheese platter. You will enjoy one more wine tasting at another place.
You’ll then travel through the rolling countryside of the Hunter Valley, passing many famous wineries on the way. The tour stops at the magnificent Hunter Valley Gardens. Extending over 25 acres you’ll find 12 beautiful themed gardens – Chinese Moongate Garden, Formal Garden, Indian Mosaic Garden, Italian Garden, Oriental Garden, Storybook Garden and Sunken Garden, to name but a few.
At the end of the tour you will be dropped back at your hotel in Sydney.

It is imperative that you wait at the front entrance of your hotel for the pickup. You may wait in the large covered areas at the entrance or at the kerbside but you should have a clear view of where the coaches may pull up.
