The tour ends at the starting point.
Is there anywhere more ‘Sydney’ than Bondi beach? The white sands and turquoise blue swell has a sort of gravitational pull for locals and tourists alike. Yep, it’s iconic, it’s beautiful and it’s the perfect place for those looking to kick-start their surfing career, or just catch a few waves for the first time.
Head over to Let’s Go Surfing HQ in North Bondi (just across the road from the beach) 35 minutes before your scheduled lesson. Here, you’ll meet your private guide, pop on a wetsuit (it’s provided for you) and grab a board.
Down on the beach your guide will spend about 10 minutes running you through the basics of surfing - from paddling, balancing, standing up and everything in between. Generally the best way to learn is by doing, so after a brief run-through on the shore you’ll hop in the water and get started.
Across the two hours, your surfer-guide will be in the water with you, helping you to catch good waves and improving your posture and skills. Most first-timers who take these lessons will stand and surf by the end of the two hours (it’s actually not as hard as you might think it is when you have someone guiding you), although the fun of this experience really lies in trying. If you’ve already got a bit of experience under your belt, your teacher will spend the lesson helping to improve and finesse those skills. Participants will also learn more about the surfing culture here in Australia, and life in Bondi too.
After two hours of surfing, you’ll head back to Let’s Go Surfing HQ to get changed and say goodbye to your guide. Then, you’re on your own at one of the best beaches in Australia. Enjoy it.
Voucher information: You can show your voucher on your smartphone (But if you’d rather print a copy – that’s fine too!)
Don’t forget to arrive 35 minutes before the lesson time - this means you’ll have time to get suited up and learn the basics before your lesson starts.
All would-be surfers have to meet the following requirements…
Please note that you participate in the lesson at your own risk. Let’s Go Surfing’s trained instructors are there to assist throughout the lesson.
Surfing in the rain or in challenging weather can be a great experience. Let’s Go Surfing’s lessons run in rain or shine. The only time a surfing lesson will be rescheduled is during an electrical storm and when there’s dangerous surf. Should a lesson not proceed due to weather or other safety reasons, you will be offered an alternative date to reschedule your lesson or given a full refund.
Appropriate all-season wetsuits, radiators, UV rash vests and sunscreen are provided for surfers.
Personal belongings including mobile phone, handbags, cameras etc are not permitted on the beach and must be stored in the safe storage area as provided by the supplier
