  • Overview & Itinerary

Located close to Keflavik International Airport, the Blue Lagoon is one of Iceland’s premier attractions. Lying in a field of basalt lava, the milky-blue mineral-rich waters are the run-off from a geothermal project and the temperature averages a relaxing 35-40°C.

Soaking in the steamy turquoise pool set in a natural bowl of black rock is a truly relaxing way to spend a couple of hours.

The basic version of this tour does not include entrance to the Blue Lagoon. Availability at the Blue Lagoon can be limited therefore we recommend you upgrade to include one of our bathing packages. The Blue Lagoon Standard Bathing Package includes entrance to The Blue Lagoon spa. You can also opt for the Blue Lagoon Comfort Bathing Package, which also offers use of a towel, a drink of your choice, skin care trial pack and an algae mask.

This transfer service to the Lagoon is designed for departing passengers who want to enjoy this blissful experience before going home.

The carefully scheduled coach service between Reykjavik hotels, the Blue Lagoon and the airport allows you to fit in a stop at the spa before or after a flight. Flexible departure times make the trip easy and convenient.

The tour starts in Reykjavik, where you will be picked up from your hotel and driven to the Blue Lagoon. You can choose to be collected at 8:30am, 10:30am, or 12:30pm.

This service is ideal for departing visitors who want to enjoy one of Iceland’s most relaxing experiences before catching their flight.

The Blue Lagoon is a unique spa located in a lava field in west Iceland. A combination of silica, geothermally-heated sea water and algae gives the lagoon a lovely milky-blue color. The warm water comes from the nearby geothermal power plant of Svartsengi and averages a pleasant 40 °C (104 °F). It is rich in minerals and bathing in the Blue Lagoon is said to alleviate skin conditions such as psoriasis.

The spa's state-of-the-art facilities include: modern changing rooms and showers, an indoor pool, and a restaurant overlooking the Blue Lagoon. A geothermal beach, lava caves and silica mud are also a part of the lagoon area. In addition to bathing, you can enjoy relaxing in a lava cave and a unique geothermal steam bath.

Your time at the Blue Lagoon is at leisure. You have two Blue Lagoon packages to choose from - Standard Admission Bathing Package or Comfort Admission Bathing Package.

The Standard Admission Bathing Package includes the visitor pass as well as the entrance fee to the Blue Lagoon spa. You can bathe in the lagoon, enjoy sauna and use the changing facilities.

The Comfort Admission Bathing Package includes all the elements of the standard package and additional benefits, which are as follows:

    • Get a large and comfortable towel. You must return the towel after bathing.
    • Enjoy a drink of your choice at the Blue Café or the Lagoon Bar.
    • Get a skincare trial pack that consists of a 30ml tube and one complimentary sample of Blue Lagoon signature products. The pack also has a sample of the Blue Lagoon algae mask.

At the end of the trip you will be dropped off at Keflavik Airport to catch your flight. Driving time to the Airport is about 20 minutes. Most airlines require that you arrive at the Airport at least 2 hours before flight departures, so please choose your departure time from the Spa with that in mind. Please tell the bus driver on your way to the Blue Lagoon which departure you plan to take when leaving the Spa.
