Set outside Reykjavik for an exciting hunt for the Northern Lights. The Northern Lights, also known as the Aurora Borealis, are a spectacular natural phenomenon, often seen dancing around in fantastic colours across the Arctic sky.
Northern Lights can be seen when certain weather conditions are fulfilled, usually during crispy cold and still evenings. During the night, however, you will see Icelandic nature, including the Milky Way, stars, moon, clouds, and complete blackness. On a daily basis, team of experts evaluate and study the weather, locations, and aurora forecast to see if the odds are in favour. Passengers can buy waffles and hot drinks on-site, at an extra cost, when available, to enjoy while looking up into the sky (offered only in 9pm departure)
The tour will take you to all the places where these Northern Lights are most likely to be seen. At the end of an exciting three-hour hunt, you will be dropped back to the starting point.
Voucher information: You can show your voucher on your smartphone or other devices. (But if you’d rather print a copy – that’s fine too!)
Please arrive at your meeting point 15minutes before the departure of the tour.
Icelandic winter nights can be very cold, we recommend dressing in warm layers and sturdy shoes.
You will get some basic information from our guides on how to get the best pictures of the lights.
Northern Lights is a natural phenomenon and sightings are not guaranteed! In the event of an unsuccessful northern lights hunt, there will be no refund. However, you may join on subsequent tours until you have a successful night of seeing the northern lights.
If the tour is cancelled due to weather conditions, you can attend same tour later day, or you can get a refund.
Indicated return times can vary due to road & weather conditions.
A new bus stop has been opened on Mýrargata, Bus stop 15 - Vesturbugt. This bus stop will be used for passengers staying at CenterHotel Grandi and Reykjavík Marina.
