The Northern Lights are one of the most spectacular shows on Earth. Observe the green and pink lights dance across the dark sky aboard a comfortable boat.
Sail out from Reykjavik’s Old Harbour and see the bright lights of the aurora borealis. The phenomenon is created when electrically charged particles from the sun enter the Earth’s atmosphere. The displays can appear in many colours and forms – pale green and pink are the most common colours but also shades of red, yellow, green, blue and violet have been reported.
Northern Lights are generally best viewed in areas with little or no population because of the lack of light pollution from cities. Small communities in the North tend to be the best, making Iceland one of the best places to go hunting for the spectacular light show put on my Mother Nature.
You will be provided with warm overalls to keep the chill at bay.
