Bask in the stunning beauty of the Northern Lights on a thrilling winter cruise. Behold the surreal dance of colors across the vast starry space with the gentle lull of the ocean beneath. The best chance to view the Northern Lights is under dark, clear skies and the conditions in Reykjavík are ideal from September until the end of April.
The boat will be equipped with comfortable heated inside areas, an onboard café, and great 360° viewing platform for panoramic views. Enjoy informative commentary by an expert guide about the auroras and feel free to ask questions. There will also be pictures taken on the boat which you can request by email. In case it gets too chilly, you can borrow one of our overalls, just remember to bring a hat and gloves.
Meet by the Old Harbour in downtown Reykjavík and exchange your pre-paid voucher for boarding tickets. Meet your guide at the Visitor Centre on board an old fishing vessel permanently placed at the pier before sailing into the Faxaflói bay in search of the mystical phenomenon, leaving behind the bright lights of the city.
Voucher information: You can show your voucher on your smartphone or other devices. (But if you’d rather print a copy – that’s fine too!)
Please arrive at your meeting point 15minutes before the departure of the tour.
Icelandic winter nights can be very cold, we recommend dressing in warm layers and sturdy shoes.
You will get some basic information from our guides on how to get the best pictures of the lights.
Northern Lights is a natural phenomenon and sightings are not guaranteed! In the event of an unsuccessful northern lights hunt, there will be no refund. However, you may join on subsequent tours until you have a successful night of seeing the northern lights.
Indicated return times can vary due to road & weather conditions.
