  • Overview & Itinerary

    Overview

Experience Iceland in a completely different way on this river-rafting excursion down the Hvitá River! Our local partners started rafting the Hvitá River over 20 years ago, and since then it has become the most popular adventure activity in Iceland.

The Hvitá River (pronounced Kveetau) is a beautiful and exciting river about an hour from Reykjavik. Admire the serene canyons and adrenaline pumping white-water rapids. On our way down the river we pass through the stunning Brúarhlöð canyon where participants can jump from a cliff into the river. Who can resist swimming in a glacier river in Iceland?

After a day of adventure, you have time to eat, relax, and enjoy our sauna or hot tubs. No one should leave Iceland without seeing and experiencing all that its beautiful rivers offer!

    Itinerary

For your exciting River Rafting in Iceland tour, you will be picked up from your hotel or guest-house in Reykjavik 30 minutes before start time and will set off to travel down one of Iceland’s most beautiful rivers.

All tours start with a complimentary hotel pick-up, where a coach will take you to the Hvitá River. From there, you will travel down the river on a raft with an expert river-rafting guide. You will pass through white-water rapids as well as beautiful canyons and scenery. We raft a seven-kilometer stretch of the river, and in the famous Brúarhlöð canyon the rafters get to jump from a cliff into the river.

After the tour is over, you can relax in our sauna or hot tubs and enjoy a hearty meal.

The morning tour includes a lunch buffet after the river rafting. The afternoon tour includes a BBQ lamb steak dinner after rafting at Drumbo.

At the end of the tour you will be dropped back at your hotel in Reykjavik.
