You can also opt for the Blue Lagoon Comfort Bathing Package, which also offers use of a towel, a drink of your choice, skin care trial pack and an algae mask.
In the afternoon embark on Iceland’s number 1 tour – the Golden Circle. You will be taken on a 300km round trip which showcases the power and beauty of Iceland’s natural environment. You will visit an active Geysir, experience the ferocity of the Gulfoss waterfall and visit Þingvellir National Park which is steeped in both history and beauty.
Stunning sights and perfect relaxation are offered in equal parts in this fantastic tour.
You will be picked up by bus from your Reykjavik hotel to kick off this Golden Circle and Blue Lagoon Tour. You will be accompanied by a knowledgeable English-speaking guide.
Set off across the harshly beautiful Icelandic terrain to the Blue Lagoon, where you spend your morning awash in serenity.
The Blue Lagoon is a unique geothermal spa situated in the youngest lava field in west Iceland. Once there, you are treated to a few hours of perfect peace, walk through the enchanted lava fields that surrounds the lagoon, bathe in the steamy blue-green waters, relax in a geothermal steam bath or release the stress from your shoulders under a soothing waterfall.
Your time at the Blue Lagoon is at leisure. You have two Blue Lagoon packages to choose from - Standard Admission Bathing Package or Comfort Admission Bathing Package.
The Standard Admission Bathing Package includes the visitor pass as well as the entrance fee to the Blue Lagoon spa. You can bathe in the lagoon, enjoy sauna and use the changing facilities.
The Comfort Admission Bathing Package includes all the elements of the standard package and additional benefits, which are as follows:
• Get a large and comfortable towel. You must return the towel after bathing.
• Enjoy a drink of your choice at the Blue Café or the Lagoon Bar.
• Get a skincare trial pack that consists of a 30ml tube and one complimentary sample of Blue Lagoon signature products. The pack also has a sample of the Blue Lagoon algae mask.
Relaxed and refreshed, you re-board your bus and set out anew for the Golden Circle.
Your first stop is the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Þingvellir National Park. It was here that the country’s first parliament was founded in 930 AD, making it the oldest known Parliament in the world. It is also a unique tectonic and volcanic environment where continental drift has engraved the landscape with cracks, faults, and fissures.
Drive to the world-renowned geothermal area around Geysir hot spring. Only a few feet away is the Stokkur Geyser, which hurls boiling water towards the sky every 5-10 minutes.
Continue to Gullfoss waterfall, where the wide Hvita River plunges furiously over a natural staircase of stones. When one first approaches the falls, the crevice is obscured from view, giving the appearance of a raging river that simply vanishes into the earth.
On your way back to Reykjavik pass by the village of Hveragerði, where geothermal energy has been harnessed to create unique greenhouse cultivation.
At the end of the tour you will be returned over a mountain heath to your Reykjavik hotel.
Please call the local activity operator at least 24 hours prior to start of the tour to confirm the pick up details.
