Overview

Drive along Iceland’s South Shore and visit the extraordinary Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon. Your drive will take you past some charming villages and the Skaftafell National Park and you will visit the Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls.

What's the plan:

For the Iceland’s South Coast & Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon tour you will be picked up from your hotel in Reykjavik at 7.30am. Board a comfortable coach which will take you towards the south shore of Iceland to the extraordinary glacial lagoon, Jökulsárlón.

The journey includes stops at natural treasures, including the iconic Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls, views of Skaftafell National Park, Diamond Beach, and Vatnajökull glacier to name but a few.

Passing the southern edge of the mighty Vatnajökull Glacier roughly midway between Reykjavik and Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, be bowled over by stunning views of glaciers, rivers and endless plains of sand. Vatnajökull Glacier National Park spans over 14,000 square km and is roughly ten times the size of London.

The Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon started to form in the early nineteen twenties and is getting bigger every year. You will see many amazing blocks of ice that have broken off Europe’s biggest glacier, Vatnajökull, as they sail slowly towards the ocean which is only a kilometer away. You will explore the lagoon on a boat trip (available at an additional cost for departures from May – September).

After the tour, you will head back to Reykjavik where you will be dropped off at your hotel.
