The highlights of the tour are Glacier hike on blue ice in Solheimajokull . The scenery and views from the Glacier is stunning and you see ice sculptures and the deep crevasses of the glacier in a very clear way.
Day 1: The classic Golden Circle and the Kerid Volcanic Crater
Explore the world famous Golden Circle and visit Geysers, Gullfoss, Thingvellir and also a special trip that includes a visit the Volcanic Crater Kerid.
The UNESCO World Heritage Site Thingvellir National park lies within the belt of volcanic activity and fissures which pass across the junction of the American and Eurasian tectonic plates. Next stop is the Geysir – the biggest geysers of Haukadalur are Strokkur and Geysir itself, which gives the others their name. Strokkur erupts every 5 to 10 minutes, throwing a column of water into the air to a height of 20 to 30 meters. Here you can also buy some refreshments or lunch.
Head next to Gullfoss, also known as the Golden Waterfall, one of the most amazing waterfalls in Iceland, powerful and beautiful as it rushes down from two tiers into an ancient valley. Then visit the Volcanic Crater Kerid which is 270 m wide and more than 55 m deep! There is a lake in the bottom of the crater which gives it a magical and colourful appearance. Stay over night in a cozy guesthouse very near to the great waterfall Seljalandsfoss
Day 2: South Coast, Waterfalls and Glacier Hike
Pass through small towns whilst enjoying the beauty of the Icelandic countryside. Your first stop will be at the famous Seljalandsfoss waterfall, which is located beneath the famous Eyjafjallajokull volcano which erupted back in 2010. Next up is the stunning Skogafoss waterfall with an unbelievable drop of 60 m (200ft)!
As we continue we will drive under the great Eyjafjallajökull glacier volcano and the Mýrdalsjökull glacier cap, where we take a Glacier Hike for about 1.5 hours and have a closer look at the Solheimajokull glacier. Tuck into some lunch before the hike. Overnight stay at a nice hostel Seljalands close to the famous Seljalandsfoss.
Day 3: The amazing Glacier lagoon and Skaftafell National park
Take a close look at majestic glaciers and lagoons. After a stop in the lovely village of Vik, drive to the East where you visit the waterfall Foss á Sidu and the National park in Skaftafell where you may stop for lunch.
Later, behold the natural stunning Blue Ice cave! Head to the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon filled with huge chunks of ice that have cracked off Breiðamerkurjökull glacier and float slowly out to sea. From the glacier lagoon, explore the best of Icelandic highlands in a special Super Jeep to the ice cave (which only form in the winter when glacial water freezes to create this unique natural phenomenon!). After this unforgettable adventure, drive back to the Jokulsarlon and from there, you drive to the Skaftafell national park where the amazing views will take your breath away! Head back in the afternoon towards Reykjavik.
