Learn about the bravery of unsung heroes and how New York built itself up again on a 9/11 Remembrance Walk.
A visit to the 9/11 Memorial is a sombre affair. But, that’s not the only thing you take with you when you leave New York’s most hallowed grounds. This space, which is where the twin towers once stood, is a tribute to lives lost. It’s a place where stories of kindness, bravery, and shared grief are gathered and retold to later generations. There were many lives lost, including fire fighters, medical workers, policemen, and even ordinary people who tried to save lives, but lost their own in the process. The serene atmosphere and peaceful grounds will leave a deep imprint on you.
Skip the line and take a guided walk of the 9/11 Memorial. You’ll get to hear stories from a guide who was in NYC on 9/11. Pay your respects to the heroes of 9/11 with a visit to St. Paul’s Chapel, too. Following the attacks, St. Paul’s Chapel immediately responded and emergency rescue centers were promptly set up, saving many lives. You’ll also learn about the Freedom Tower and walk up to the Survivor Tree, the tree that survived the 9/11 attacks. If you wish, you can also include a visit to the One World Trade Observatory, or get access to the 9/11 Memorial Museum. For those who wish to have the tour translated, you can download an audio guide app and use the free Wi-Fi available on the premises.
