It’s hard to stay away from the enticing variety of street foods in Mumbai – their delicious aromas make you salivate just by walking past a vendor. Pani puri is one such famous treat – a crispy shell filled with flavorful water, you pop it whole into your mouth and let the tastes explode! Or maybe a south Indian dosa is more to your liking. This crisp cross between a pancake and a crêpe has a divinely spicy potato and vegetable mix hidden inside.
After enjoying a few spicy treats, you’ll relish the chance to soothe your taste buds with some of Indian’s divinely sugary and syrupy desserts. How can you choose from the array of gulab jamun, ras malai, jalebi and rasgulla? They all look divine! Much better to have one of each and let the flavors chase their way across your mouth!
Once you’ve eaten your fill, you’ll head to a local watering hole and end the night with high spirits.

The delectable Mumbai Food Tour gives you a crash course in all those delightful tastes that add zing to the Mumbai street food scene.
The culinary adventure begins at 1900h (7:00pm) when you make your way to the meeting point at the Taj Lands End hotel in Bandra. This queen of the suburbs has multiple food stalls tucked away in different corners, all of which are patronized by celebrities as well as everyday people.
Starting with a complimentary sampling of the famous Bombay toast, we will cover a range of cuisines from the South Indian dosa to the famous chat variety pani puri. Dripping wet and overflowing with the spicy, flavorful water, you pop the round pani puri into your mouth, crunch into it all at one go and wait for the explosion of tastes that follows. Then soothe your taste buds with a variety of sugar-laden and syrup-drenched desserts – such delights as jalebi, rasgulla, gulab jamun, ras malai and ladoo, to name a few.
After sampling the local food, it’s time to mingle with the local crowd as your group heads to a popular local watering hole that ensures the trip ends on high spirits (drinks payable direct).
