At the heart of Milan is its most famous landmark – the Duomo Cathedral. Most visitors only see this magnificent landmark from the outside but this in-depth tour will take you behind the scenes of Milan’s most revered building.
The Skip-the-Line small group tour will lead you inside the Duomo and unveil the mysteries kept inside that even the local Milanesi don't know! Your licensed English speaking tour guide will teach you about Milan's most renowned curiosities from the sundial trail, the ritual of the Holy Nail to the story of the Apostle who was skinned alive and much more.
After being inside the Duomo, you will reach the Terraces of the Cathedral by elevator, please note that there is no skip the line available for the elevator rides. You will then arrive to a breathtaking panoramic view over the city after just 50 steps and you will feel like you literally have Milan at your feet!
During this tour, you will have time to take memorable pictures of the spires, the shining skyscrapers, iconic medieval towers and have a closer look at the incredible sculptures populating the Duomo and representing mysterious animals, monsters and other peculiar subjects.
After exploring the main Cathedral head to the underground area, filled with relics and archeological artefacts dating back to when the baptistery stood where the cathedral is now, initially built in 1386.
As the experience comes to an end, head to the nearby Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Italy’s oldest active shopping mall, and one of Milan’s most beautiful landmarks. Be sure to look up and admire the iron and glass-vaulted ceilings.
