Visit ‘The Last Supper’ painted by Leonardo Da Vinci at the Santa Maria delle Grazie convent with an expert English speaking guide. The masterpiece shows, in vivid detail, the moment when Jesus reveals that one of his 12 Apostles is going to betray him.
You will also board the vintage tram to see the many attractions such as Cordusio, Piazza Affari, the Duomo, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, Teatro alla Scala and more. Your guide will accompany you throughout and share interesting anecdotes of the places you see.
To protect the Last Supper, viewing is limited and reservations sell out weeks in advance. The supplier for this tour releases allocation on a day by day basis. If you wish to make a more advanced booking then we do have an alternative Last Supper Tour click here to see the details >>
Meet your guide at the designated meeting point, 10 minutes prior to the start of the tour.
Your tour will begin at the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie where you will see the famous The Last Supper. Hidden away at the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, The Last Supper attracts huge crowds leading to queues that often stretch for hours. With a pre-booked slot and Skip the Line Access, you get straight inside the church with your guide.
Renowned for realism ahead of its time, the sensational mural portrays the emotional response of each of the Apostles when Jesus predicts that one of them will betray him. All 12 Apostles react differently to the news, showing various degrees of anger and shock.
Da Vinci’s painting has suffered much damage over the years, and to protect this unique work, only a small number of visitors are allowed to view it at any one time. The painting featured prominently in Dan Brown's bestseller, The Da Vinci Code, with a result in increased number of people wanting to see it.
After 45 minutes viewing the Last Supper, you will board tram number 16 and take a tour of central Milan with your guide.
Note that depending on the Last Supper entrance time, you may take the tram tour before the visit to ‘the Last Supper’.
The following are the sights which you will see on your vintage tram tour:
Cordusio: Commonly referred as Piazzale Cordusio, it is a square in central Milan. The piazza takes its name from the Cors Ducis (Ducal court) which was found in the square during Longobard times. It is well known for its several turn-of-the-19th-century Neoclassical, eclectic and Art Nouveau buildings, banks and post offices.
Piazza Affari: Famous for the "Finger square", a sculpture L.O.V.E. by Italian artist Cattelan. The sculpture is a hand with all fingers cut, except for the middle one. Placed just in front of the building called Palazzo Mezzanotte.
The Duomo: The Duomo di Milano, Milan's magnificent Gothic cathedral, is one of the world's largest churches. The cathedral took nearly six centuries to complete. Its dazzling white front façade is arguably the world's most beautiful cathedral square.
The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele: One of the world's oldest shopping malls. Housed within a four-story double arcade in central Milan, the Galleria is named after Vittorio Emanuele II, the first king of the Kingdom of Italy. The baroque location and the many luxury brands make it the most elegant place to shop in Milan. Teatro alla Scala: La Scala is a world-renowned opera house. Founded in 1776 to replace a previous theatre destroyed by fire, La Scala was designed by the great neoclassical architect Giuseppe Piermarini.
Your 2 hour 15 minute tram tour ends at La Scala.
