Overview

A tour of the Cinque Terre villages is a great way to see the beautiful and truly picturesque Italian Riviera. Visit Cinque Terre, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and explore the charming villages and ruins overlooking the sea, venture among the olive groves and vineyards, or relax on the dock and observe the fishing boats along the shore.

En route to Cique Terre from Milan, stop at Manarola, one of the most scenic villages on the sides of a rocky outcrop, with vibrant dwellings and a small harbor. Enjoy time on your own, explore local flavors, and visit the 13th-century Church of San Lorenzo with its Gothic facade.
Before the lunch break, enjoy a scenic train ride to Monterosso al Mare, the biggest of the five villages. Take in the ruins of middle age fortifications built once upon a time to protect the area from pirate attacks; or stroll along the seafront promenade and admire the huge statue of Neptune, built by Arrigo Minerbi and Francesco Levacher in the early 20th century.
Enjoy a 90 minutes boat cruise that will take you along these five beautiful lands, giving you the chance to savor the refreshing sea breeze
Arrive at La Spezia city where your guide will be waiting for you, and afterward, relax till it's time for you to return to Milan.

Our tour to Cinque Terre departed from Milan, and although this was a 3 hour plus trip each way, this didn't matter when we arrived at Manarola, the first village of the tour. This village was excellent. From here we went by train to Monterosso and the by ferry to view the remaining villages from the sea. The tour allowed sufficient time to look around to visit the shops, have some lunch at one of the many local cafes and restaurants and take in the sights. We would recommend the trip to anyone who likes to explore the historic and picturesque coastline of Italy.
