The Grand Canyon is one of the most visited sites from Las Vegas and its immense vastness cannot be imagined until one experiences it in real. You will be awestruck to see how layer upon layer of undulating rocks gives it a magnificent texture, which changes from dawn to dusk. And the unique glass bridge, The Skywalk, which is nearly 4,000 feet above the floor, provides outstanding views of the Grand Canyon and Colorado River.
For the Grand Canyon West Rim by Coach & Skywalk Ticket tour, you will be picked up from your Las Vegas hotel in a deluxe air-conditioned coach to revel in the beauty of the beautiful abyss after enjoying a drive across the world’s tallest dams, the Hoover Dam.
Appreciate local culture while you enjoy authentic cuisine prepared by the Hualapai tribe and browse through shops selling artifacts crafted by local artisans. Enjoy a walk across the west rim of the Grand Canyon, which gets more stunning as you admire it from different viewpoints. Walk across the Skywalk, a horseshoe shaped bridge on the edge of the Canyon and take in the colossal beauty of the spectacular gorge. You will get ample time to enjoy the Grand Canyon.
For the Grand Canyon West Rim by Coach & Skywalk Ticket tour, you will be picked up from your hotel in Las Vegas in a comfortable, deluxe air-conditioned coach and will be driven to Hoover Dam, crossing the Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge from where you will get a glimpse of the dam and Lake Mead.
Commissioned in 1935 by the then United States’ president Franklin D. Roosevelt, the Hoover Dam is one of the world’s tallest dams. Thousands of workers were involved in the construction of the dam, which was mainly built for irrigation in the hottest area of United States. The dam seizes Lake Mead, the largest reservoir in the US in terms of volume.
After Hoover Dam, the coach will pass through the habitat of the big horn sheep, Black Canyon, which has played a significant role in the development of the American Southwest, and more than 900 years old Joshua Tree Forest. Be on the lookout for Fortification Hill, built during World War II to protect the Hoover Dam.
Next, the coach will take you to the west rim of the great Grand Canyon. A UNESCO World Heritage site and considered one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, it was named as an official national park in 1919. It’s an endless expanse of layers of rocks of different colors which recede down to form an indomitable gorge. The sites presented by the different viewpoints of the rim drastically transform from dawn to dusk.
Upon arrival, savor barbeque lunch prepared by the local Hualapai tribe, who will also acquaint you with their history, traditions and culture. After lunch, enjoy a walk along the rim, visiting viewpoints which will give you the most spectacular vision of the gorge and ample photo opportunities.
During the course of your walk, visit one of Grand Canyon’s most popular attraction - The Skywalk. It is a unique glass cantilever bridge built in the shape of a horseshoe, which is suspended 4000 feet above the Grand Canyon floor. Maintained by the Hualapai Tribe and located on tribal lands, the skywalk provides stunning views of the gorge and an experience not found anywhere else.
Before you take the return journey to Las Vegas, spend quality time browsing artifacts, curios crafted by the tribal craftsmen. You can pick knick knacks as souvenirs for your loved ones.
