Enjoy a lively behind-the-scenes shopping tour in Kyoto with a friendly guide. Enjoy a wonderful introduction to the city’s art, culture, food and discover the less touristy places of the cultural capital of Japan. Pick up authentic and indigenous souvenirs to take back home, enjoy some fun retail therapy on the streets of Kyoto and savour some of Kyoto’s most beloved delicacies such as green tea, wagashi sweets and sake!
Step back in time with a visit to the bygone part of the city, Miyagawa-cho and look out for a Geisha in the magical, lantern-adorned district. Spend time in a 300-year old tea room, a traditional confectionary shop and meet one of the oldest woodblock printers in the city. This is a tour that promises a truly intimate Kyoto experience as you discover the Japanese way of life through a taste of Kyoto’s food, traditions, arts and more!

If you are happy with the services provided by your local guides, a tip - though not compulsory - is appropriate. While it may not be customary to you, it is of great significance to the people who will take care of you during your travels, inspires excellent service, and is an entrenched feature of the tourism industry across many Intrepid Urban Adventures destinations. Please consider this when budgeting for your extra expenses on this tour.
If you have your voucher, your booking is confirmed. You will be in small group size with maximum up to 12 people. Occasionally, the small local shops that we like to visit can close at irregular times. If this happens, we'll visit a similar store instead. Please wear comfortable, casual dress and comfortable walking shoes.
Instead of the sake tasting we will provide some additional sweets for children to enjoy alongside you in the sake brewery.
