Steven Spielberg’s Schindler’s List has brought Oskar Schindler to the fore of popular culture, which makes a visit to Schindler’s Factory inevitable during a trip to Krakow. The story of a German entrepreneur and a member of a Nazi party who saved the lives of approximately 1200 Jews by employing them in his enamel factory is one of the finest examples of humanity in history.
Visit the original enamel factory that has been turned into a museum dedicated to Oskar Schindler’s noble deeds and recreates the tense atmosphere in Krakow under the Nazi occupation during the World War II. The factory holds a permanent exhibition titled, ‘Krakow under Nazi Occupation 1939–1945’ with photographs, videos, sound recordings, eyewitness accounts and everyday objects chronologically displayed. A guide will take you around the museum and give you a historical perspective of the artefacts that you see in the museum. The museum will transport you to those trying times under the Nazi occupation.
