Travel through the beautiful Adelaide Hills in a coach and explore the Scottish settlement of Strathalbyn. Take a paddle steamer and cruise past the town of Goolwa and reach Victor Harbour, South Australia’s most popular seaside village. Take a leisurely stroll on the main street or sample local produce. You can also upgrade this tour for a 3- course lunch at Victor Hotel.
To make this tour more memorable, you will also visit the wine regions of McLaren Vale where you can sip the best quality Shiraz and other variants of finely produced wines.
Depart from Adelaide and take a picturesque coach ride through Adelaide Hills to the historical Scottish settlement of Strathalbyn on the banks of River Angus. It is one of the most charming towns in South Australia and is known for its thriving art scene, cafes and distinct architecture. You will stop here for some free time and morning tea (own expense) before heading to the old river port of Goolwa in a paddle steamer. Here you will take a brief tour of the town including the wharf, barrage and beach.
Next, you will make your way for Victor Harbour past the beautiful town of Port Elliot, where you will visit the Horseshoe Bay and will get ample photo opportunities at the Whale Lookout. On reaching Victor Harbour, you can take a leisurely stroll on the main street or savour some fish and chips on the foreshore (not included in the tour).
Victor Harbour is one of South Australia’s most popular seaside villages. It is known for Little Penguins which roam around the Granite Island and horse-drawn trams. You might even catch a glimpse of a Southern Right Whale during the winter months.
You can upgrade your tour by adding a 3 course lunch at Hotel Victor. The menu includes:

After spending quality time at Victor Harbour, you will pass through the southern coastline including Horseshoe Bay, Rosetta Heads and Encounter Bay, which have a rich whaling history.
Your tour continues to the wine making region of McLaren Vale, known for producing the best quality Shiraz. McLaren Vale has more than 60 cellar doors. Wander the streets or sample fresh local produce like the cheese at Blessed Cheese. Taste some of the finest wines or grab a coffee at one of the several cafes. From here take a scenic drive through South Australia’s southern metropolitan beaches of Port Noarlunga and Moana before returning to Adelaide.
