Explore the Santa Maria Formosa, the perfect example of Renaissance architecture. Walk through the Campo SS. Giovanni e Paolo, The “Pantheon” of Venice, the Great School of Charity, the Captains of fortune. Learn all about the history of Marco Polo’s House and the Malibran Theatre and uncover how these sites have influenced one-another over the years. Take a walk through the Mercerie, the city’s main shopping hub.

Itinerary

You will meet your guide at the starting point. The walking tour will start from the Piazza San Marco. From there, you will get a glimpse of popular historical monuments like the Basilica San Marco, Palazzo Ducale, Bell Tower, Clock Tower and the Procuratie.

You will then head to the Santa Maria Formosa, where you will learn the rich history of this popular church and admire the impressive Renaissance-style architecture. Continue your visit to the Campo SS. Giovanni e Paolo, one of the largest squares in Venice.

Next you will visit Marco Polo’s House and the Malibran Theatre. After exploring these landmarks, you will return to San Marco through the Mercerie, a popular shopping street that connects the Rialto and San Marco.

The walking tour will come to an end at the meeting point.
