There is no better way to get acquainted with Venice than by water and this 2-hour private boat tour brings you the perfect introduction to the historic city. Inseparable from the city itself, the canals and waterways of Venice have inspired the musings of Hemingway, Byron, and James, among others. Context's Venice by Boat orientation is designed to give you a taste of the rich history and architecture of Venice.
Get acquainted with some of the smaller canals that help weave a tale of the history of Venice from your private boat (which is covered). Your guide will point out the important aspects of these islands, as well as introduce you to the characteristics of the different Venetian neighborhoods, known as sestieri. A veritable jewel box of opulent Venetian architecture, the Grand Canal, which serves as the main artery of Venice, will end your orientation.
Feast your eyes on noteworthy sites all around you. Gain insight into the iconic things you see along the route as your guide helps you to situate yourself in the city, orient you to the major areas, and answer any of your questions. This is an excellent tour to take at the beginning of your stay.

Voucher information: Sorry, but we will need you to print a paper version of your booking voucher (we're working on changing this). At this time no refund can be given for customers without a printed copy of their voucher.
The confirmation voucher includes the local activity operator’s contact details. They’re a nice bunch, and will happily answer any logistical questions you may have. Pick up times are approximate. Please give them a call at least 24 hours before your organized activity to reconfirm.
Please share your contact details with us in the specific requests field at the time of booking.
Please arrive promptly for the appointment, as we have a fixed time with the boat. Given the complicated nature of transportation and city navigation in Venice, we suggest allowing yourselves more time than you feel necessary to arrive at the meeting point.
Please check the cancellation policy for questions about the Venice Boat Tour and inclement weather before making your purchase. Please note that the boat is covered, so this visit can run during light rain.
Please note that for small group walks, the group will be met by the boat 15 minutes after the start time of the walk, to allow for the group to converge. The docent will use this time to present the path the boat will take through the city and to provide some historical background on the sites that will be seen from the water.
