This exclusive and special journey, behind-the-scenes tour, is led by an experienced Taronga Zoo keeper at Australia’s best wildlife park designed especially for the inquisitive traveler. Your very small group will enjoy greeting koalas in their enclosure, getting up close to kangaroos and wallabies and learn how we take care of our animals.
Designed to encourage interaction between visitors, Australian animals, and the zoo keepers, this tour will give you an in-depth look and knowledge, you couldn't get anywhere else, at the unique wildlife that resides at one of Australia’s most comprehensive zoos.

The tour starts from the Information Center, Education Centre, Taronga Zoo, Bradley's Head Road, Mosman, Sydney. During the tour, you will hear an interesting commentary by the daily zoo keeper about the native animals and a diverse collection of exotic species.
Take in the breathtaking views of the Harbour Bridge, Opera House and Sydney Cove as you zig zag your way past enclosures.
Only 12 minutes by ferry from the city – Taronga Zoo is nestled on the shores of the world’s most beautiful harbour. Taronga Zoo has the largest native and exotic collection in New South Wales. Highlights include the world famous Free Flight Bird and Seal Show, scenic Sky Safari Cable Car and the chance to be photographed next to koalas and giraffes.
You can have your photographs taken with kangaroos, wallabies, birds, wombats and echidna's as well as over 200 animals in the "Creatures of the Wollemi" exhibit.
After the guided tour you are free to stay and explore the zoo at your leisure. The tour concludes at the point of departure.

Regular buses also travel to Taronga Zoo via North Sydney and Mosman.
Ferries from Circular Quay to Taronga Zoo (Athol wharf) depart approximately every 30 minutes Monday to Sunday.
Yellow Water Taxis operate from Circular Quay, Darling Harbour and can be hailed from wharves at other points in the harbour.
