  • Overview & Itinerary

This Hunter Valley tour will take you just 2 hours drive North of Sydney but a million miles away from the stress of city living. The Hunter Valley is Australia's oldest and one of its greatest wine areas, though it produces only a tiny proportion of the countries wines - about 2 per cent. First established more than 150 years ago, it is home to some 80 wineries ranging from famous labels to very small 'boutique' winemakers. The Hunter Valley is renowned for its full-bodied white wines, 'medium weight reds' and some excellent ports.

On this Hunter Valley Tour you will taste some of the regions fines wines and get the chance to meet some of the owners of the wineries and enjoy a wonderful lunch in the foothills of the Broken Back Mountain Range.

You will be picked up from your hotel and accompanied by a guide, will travel in a luxury vehicle on this Hunter Valley Tour.

A trip to Sydney is not complete without a visit to the world class wineries of the Hunter Valley. Leaving Sydney, you will travel through the historic Rocks area before crossing the magnificent Sydney Harbour Bridge. From here journey through the leafy Northern Suburbs, and then escape through the brilliant sandstone outcrops of Ku-ring-gai National Park to reach the mighty Hawkesbury River.

Here you will stop for a traditional Aussie morning tea deep in the bush before continuing on to the Hunter region.

From Mt View begin the descent into the Hunter Valley for your wine tasting at a few of the very special boutique wineries in the area. Chat with the owners, admire their cottage locations and let them show off the best of their vintages.

At the foothills of the Broken Back Range, there is time to enjoy a sumptuous lunch and then spend the afternoon visiting some of the larger vineyards for more superb wine tasting.

As the afternoon approaches, begin the return to Sydney to conclude this relaxing and enjoyable day. The tour ends at your hotel.
