  • Overview

This highly exclusive experience provides a deep understanding and authentic connection to Australia's Indigenous cultures. Meet your host at your accommodation at 9am with private transportation and then drive to La Perouse, on the northern headland of Botany Bay (just 30mins from Sydney CBD), a land the Aboriginal people once called Guriwal, "Whale". Here you will meet your Aboriginal guide who will conduct a traditional Welcome to Country ceremony, formally blessing you to walk the land with him and opening your mind and soul to the learning of the land!

Your Aboriginal guide will take you on a 2 hour walking tour through Kamay Botany Bay National Park - giving you an insight into the oldest living culture on Earth. Discover the ancient history of the bush, Caring for Country' and all the local plants and animals and some of their traditional uses. Botany Bay is the site of first contact with Aboriginal people during European settlement and your Aboriginal guide can provide authentic stories from this time. Australian native plants have been used for thousands of years by Aboriginal people. Over morning tea you'll be able to taste some traditional recipes as well as contemporary creations using native ingredients such as lemon myrtle, wattle seed and macadamia nut oil.

From La Perouse, you will say goodbye to your Aboriginal guide and your host will take you on a scenic tour of Sydney's Eastern Beaches driving up the coast you will pass Maroubra, Clovelly and Bronte beaches. Visit an authentic Aboriginal Art Gallery to view art sources from some of the most remote Aboriginal communities in the county. Before wrapping up for the day, stop for lunch at one of the beaches along the way, giving you the chance to taste some of Sydney's fresh and gourmet delights.
