Visit the Colosseum and uncover its bloodthirsty history. Alight at the Vatican to visit St Peter’s Basilica and see the Swiss Guards. Pause at Fontana di Trevi to photograph the world’s most famous fountain. Hop off at Piazza Barberini to take the walkway to Spanish Steps or jump off at the Piazza Venezia to visit the Pantheon and Michelangelo’s Piazza del Campidoglio.

Our Rome Hop On - Hop Off Tour lets you explore ‘The Eternal City’ at your own pace, from the comfort of an open-top bus. You can jump on and off the bus at will to explore sights further, go shopping grab a bite to eat. Alternatively stay on board and listen to an informative audio commentary (provided in eight languages). A tour escort is on board to answer any queries you may have.
Your ticket grants you with unlimited use, meaning you can hop-on and hop-off the bus as many times as you like, at any of the designated stops!

The hop-on-hop-off tour has three terminals. Terminal A: Termini Marsala and Terminal B: Largo Di Villa Peretti, both of which are close to Termini - Rome's main station and Terminal C: Piazza dei Cinquecento.
The stops included in the tour are:
Stop 2 - Santa Maria Maggiore: Dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, this basilica often plays host to the Pope. The church contains many ancient mosaics and some beautiful frescoes. The medieval bell tower here is the highest in Rome, at 75 meters.
Stop 3 – Colosseo: An architectural and engineering wonder of the ancient world, the Colosseum bears witness to both the glory and brutality of the Roman Empire. (This stop is closed on Sundays and public holidays.)
Stop 4 - Circo Massimo: With a seating capacity of 250,000 people, Circo Massimo was once the largest stadium of ancient Rome, used for gladiator fights, processions or chariot races. This stop is closed on Sundays and public holidays.
Stop 5 - Piazza Venezia: Situated in the heart of Rome, this square is walking distance from some of the most famous monuments such as the Forum Romanum, the Pantheon and Campidoglio.
Stop 6 – Vaticano: Your stop for Vatican City, be sure to see the wealth of fabulous artworks in the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Also the stop for St Peter's Square and Basilica.
Stop 7 - Fontana di Trevi: Beautiful Baroque Trevi – one of the world’s most famous fountains - depicts the sea god, Oceanus, riding a shell-shaped chariot drawn by two horses.
Stop 7b - Piazza Di Spagna: Only on Sundays and Bank Holidays : This stop is at the bottom of the Spanish Steps close to the Column of the Immaculate Conception.
Stop 8 - Piazza Barberini: A large piazza named after the nearby Palazzo Barberini. The Palazzo has a famous spiral staircase, magnificent frescoes, and boasts one of the most important art collections in Italy. This stop also gives easy access to the Spanish Steps’ pedestrian walkway.
You can leave the tour at whichever stop you wish.
The itinerary for the Tour may change on Sundays and Public Holidays, especially during Easter. Stops affected frequently include Colosseo, Circo Massimo and Trevi. All attractions continue to open, however traffic will be restricted. It is very easy to walk to any attractions from our alternative routes. All changes will be identified on the day of travel. Please check with the tour escort onboard for more details.
Rome Municipality Authority will impose new regulations and restricted access for all hop-on hop-off tours in the city of Rome. It will impact the number of stops available. These changes are beyond our control and imposed without notice by the local Rome Municipality Authority. The exact itinerary will be advised on the day of travel by the staff on board.

Due to the popularity of the Rome Hop-On, Hop-Off Tour it may not be possible to board the first bus that comes to the stop. To help you plan your day be aware that buses tend to be at their busiest between 9:00am and 11:30am
This ticket is valid for the Red, City Sightseeing Italy Buses.
Rome is a functioning capital city and therefore political events, demonstrations and celebrations can disrupt the route at any time, especially during summer and at weekends.
Your voucher will be valid for 3 months from the date chosen at the time of booking.
Partial wheelchair access available. Buses are not fully equipped but wheelchairs can be collapsed down and stored on the bus.
Electric wheelchairs cannot be accommodated for technical reasons.

The confirmation voucher includes the local activity operator’s contact details and local telephone numbers at the destination. They will happily answer any logistical questions you may have.
Wheelchair access is available on this tour.
Large bags/backpacks/suitcases are not permitted in the Colosseum and Roman Forum. Only very small bags are allowed. Please do not bring these items with you on the day of your tour as there are no cloakrooms at the Colosseum.
The access to the bus is permitted for little and medium domestic animals under the discretion of the driver. Using muzzle and leash is mandatory and the holder must assure that the pet carrier is not in a poor state or that it does not contain food. The owner or the holder of the animal is liable for any damage caused by the animal.
For safety reasons it is strictly forbidden to bring luggage, awkward bags, big backpacks or bulky baggage on board the City Sightseeing buses.
