Overview

This wonderful morning tour of Rome combines sightseeing by coach and on foot to see the most famous landmarks of Classic Rome.

Take a pleasant stroll through Rome’s historical centre – some of the sites you will see include the Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona and the Pantheon.

Travel by coach along the banks of the River Tiber enjoying the wonderful views including the magnificent Castel Sant’ Angelo.

The highlight of this tour is undoubtedly a visit to St Peter’s Basilica where you can go inside and explore independently.

    Good news! You can get picked up from selected hotels in Central Rome between 8am and 8:40am, just give us the details at the time of booking. Don’t worry if you have not booked your hotel yet, our customer service executives will get in touch and confirm the details.
    If you are not staying in central Rome the tour also starts from Via G. Amendola 32 at 9am.

Itinerary

  • Your tour of the classical landmarks of Rome starts with a pick up from your Hotel (if it is centrally located) between 08:00am and 08:40am.

    The excursion begins with a leisurely walk across the Piazza della Repubblica at the heart of which you will find the Fountain of the Naiads.

    Further on you come to the Trevi Fountain, the central figure of this masterpiece is Neptune - god of the sea.

    The next sight is the imposing Colonna of Marco Aurelio, a memorial celebrating Emperor Marcus Aurelius’s victories then move to see the Palazzo di Montecitorio, designed by Bernini.

    The next stop is the Pantheon, a classic Roman temple, converted into a Christian church also see Palazzo Madama - seat of the senate.

    The tour passes through the extremely lively Piazza Navona, where the main attraction is the famous Fountain of the Four Rivers.

    The coach drives past the Castel Sant' Angelo, one of the earliest monuments built in Rome, dating back to the Roman period. The last stop is the Basilica of St Peter, home to one of Michelangelo’s most outstanding works, La Pieta and Bernini’s bronze canopy.

    You will be dropped in the vicinity of your hotel or Via G. Amendola 32.

No drop off at the hotels but stops at: Via Veneto, Piazza Barberini, Piazza Venezia, Piazza della Repubblica, Termini Station and Terminal GLT

Knees and Shoulders must be covered for entrance to the Basilica
