Admire Gullfoss, the queen of Iceland’s waterfalls, as it tumbles down a deep gorge. Discover lovely The Þingvellir National Park – full of natural beauty and historic interest. Witness the places where Iceland’s landscape tearing apart due to massive forces of the Earth’s crust.
Visit the birth-place of the Icelandic parliament, the site of the world’s oldest national assembly at Thingveller’s plains. Take in sprouting springs of Geysir, the epic water jets are so well known that they’ve lent their name to all the hot springs of the world. The stop at Geysir will be around 60 minutes.
What's the plan:
The Golden Circle Tour from Reykjavikvisits some of the best known historical sites and natural phenomena in Iceland. At the start of the tour you will be picked up from your hotel or guest-house.
Proceed to the Þingvellir National Park, a place of fascinating geology and exceptional natural beauty. The Mid - Atlantic Ridge – the boundary between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates is clearly visible here. Gaze with awe at the line where Iceland is slowly being pulled apart as North America veers west and Eurasia moves east.
Þingvellir is also a site of great historic interest, it’s plains playing host to the Icelandic parliament Alþingi, founded in the year 930 AD.
Continue to the beautiful waterfall Gullfoss ('Golden Waterfall'), Walks at the waterfalls edge are particularly magical, allowing you to feel the mist of the glacial water on your face.
The lunch stop is usually at the Gullfoss cafe but sometimes the tour stops at the Information Centre at the geothermal area around Geysir instead. You can purchase lunch at either of these two places or bring a packed lunch along with you.
Following lunch, you will visit the geothermal area around the incredible spouting hot springs of Geysir and Strokkur.
At the end of the trip you will be dropped off at your accommodation in Reykjavik. However, hotel dropoff may depend on the route and traffic restrictions.

Children 0-11yrs can join this tour for free if accompanied by an adult.
Only two children are allowed with one paying adult.

Covid-19 restrictions in Iceland:
People who present a vaccination certificate or a certificate of previous infection are allowed to enter the country. Other visitors must stay in a government quarantine facility for 5-6 days with double PCR testing. Unnecessary traveling from high-risk countries is banned.
