Discover the essence of Reykjavik with this engaging walking tour, starting at the iconic Hallgrímskirkja church, where your guide awaits by the Leifur Eiríksson statue. Reach the meeting point 5-10 minutes before the scheduled start time to avoid any delays. While the tour excludes the bell tower climb, early arrivals can enjoy an elevator ride prior to it. Head to the church’s official website to check for opening hours and the entry fee.
From the renowned church, you will next move to the serene Einar Jónsson sculpture park, delving into Norse mythology, followed by a leisurely stroll through the charming Þingholt neighborhood, pausing at the City Pond to feed local waterfowl. City Hall unveils Iceland’s geological wonders on a massive map before traversing historic landmarks, including the parliament, cathedral, and Viking homestead sites. Your journey concludes at the bustling Old Harbor, culminating at the impressive Harpa Concert Hall along the scenic north shore.
