Visit Pompeii, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was buried under the volcanic ash and pumice for centuries after the fierce Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD.
This guided walking tour of Pompeii gives you skip-the-line access to the site and an official Pompeii guide takes you to the major Pompeii attractions. The guide will be a trained archaeologist who will narrate fascinating stories about the lives that the people of Pompeii used to lead.

Make your way to ticket/info kiosk on the left hand side when exiting the Circumvesuviana train stop Villa dei Misteri (with your back to the station), go to the left. Just around the corner you will see a ticket office. We meet just outside.
Your tour ends at Inside Pompeii Archeological Site.
You will meet your guide at the designated meeting point. Walk past the long queues and enter the site with your skip-the-line ticket.
Visit the excavation site which was buried under volcanic debris for over 1600 years. Pompeii was a well-developed Roman city which had a huge theatre that held gladiatorial fights, temples of worship, luxurious Roman villas decorated with brightly painted frescoes and marvelous mosaics and highly mechanised waterway systems.
The guide will walk you through the shops, temples, public baths and houses that composed the thriving city, s/he will recount the fascinating stories of ancient life and how it was decimated by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius.
During the course of the tour, you will stop at the major Pompeii attractions such as the Roman bakery, the Temple of Apollo, the Roman Forum, an ancient supermarket, and an old cemetery. See the daunting plastic death casts of people who were caught in the eruption. The guide might also take you to an ancient brothel.
Next, you will stroll along the city walls offering panoramic views of Naples and Capri.
After exploring the main parts of Pompeii, your tour will end at the entrance to the site.
Reaching Pompeii by train from Rome:
First, take a train from Rome (“Roma Termini”) to Naples (“Napoli Centrale”).
We recommend taking the fastest train, Frecciarossa, which takes about one hour.
Once at the Napoli Centrale train station, take the Circumvesuviana train, which you can access directly from the Naples station. Take the Napoli-Sorrento Circumvesuviana line. Trains leave about every half hour, arriving at the Pompeii Scavi – Villa dei Misteri stop in about 30 minutes.
