Itinerary

You will be picked up from your hotel in Naples at the scheduled time in the morning. Enjoy a scenic drive to the coast of Sorrento with photo stops along the way. Amalfi coast promises plenty of wonderful photo opportunities with its mountains, sea, precipitous cliffs and sweeping woodlands. Enjoy lunch at a restaurant along the coast and then spend time in the scenic coastal town of Amalfi on your own.

You will next be taken to the ruins of Pompeii, a UNESCO heritage site that was once a thriving Roman city that met its cataclysmic end after the volcanic eruption of Mt Vesuvius in 79 AD. Experience the tragic history of the ancient civilization of Pompeii, a name you have frequently come across in history books.

Explore the excavation site which was buried under volcanic debris for over 1600 years. Pompeii was once a bustling city with a huge theatre for gladiatorial fights, temples of worship, luxurious Roman villas decorated with brightly painted frescoes and marvelous mosaics and highly mechanised waterway systems.

See the Roman bakery, the Temple of Apollo, the Roman Forum, an ancient supermarket and an old cemetery. See the daunting plastic death casts of people who were caught in the eruption. Explore the thermal baths, the Basilica, a brothel, the Macellum and the famous House of Faun as your guide regales you with fascinating details about the sites you will be visiting.

At the end of the tour, you will be driven back to Naples and dropped off to your hotel in the evening.
