Make your way to the front of Ticket Office at Tower of London. Please arrive at the meeting point 15 mins early.
Same as the start point
Explore the infamous Tower of London in the company of one of the sites’ famous Beefeater guards. Visit this historic fortress, prison, and execution site with a Yeoman Warder – better known as a Beefeater and listen to firsthand accounts of this elite guard, take pictures, and ask questions. Beefeater tours are extremely popular and usually visitors must wait a long time to share the tour with hundreds of other visitors. But you will be enjoying this experience in a group of 30 people or less!
The tour starts in front of the Group Ticket Office at Tower of London where you will meet a City Wonders representative holding a flag. Enjoy an informative introduction to the history of the Tower of London. Used as both a Palace and a prison, this landmark is most well-known as the home of the Crown Jewels and execution site of three Queens of England. You will then meet one of the Tower’s Yeoman Warders for the tour.
You can explore the Tower on your own after the tour. Stay for as long as you like and explore its macabre history. Visit the Tower Green where Henry the VIII, the infamous Tudor King, beheaded two of his wives: Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard. See the infamous White Tower, a medieval keep, where the ‘Princes in the Tower’ were held and allegedly murdered by their Uncle Richard III so he could usurp the English throne.
Because this is an early morning tour, you will be among the first visitors to the Jewel House to see the spectacular Crown Jewels, which have been held here for the last 600 years. These are the official regalia and vestments used by the Sovereign of the United Kingdom during coronation ceremonies and other noble appearances. This priceless collection includes magnificent orbs, swords, rings, crowns, and sceptres.
